Expert Profile

Nimish Patel

ACCA Certified Accountant

Head of Forensic Investigations at Coots & Boots

Chartered Accountant
35+ years’ experience in accounting and financial management
Nimish leads forensic investigations at Coots & Boots and practises as an Insolvency Practitioner, specialising in complex and contentious administrations, receiverships and distressed business turnaround. He believes formal insolvency should be a last resort, pursued only when every other option has been exhausted.

A Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Nimish qualified with Grant Thornton in 1990 before moving to EY, where he worked on some of the most high-profile corporate insolvencies of the decade — among them the 1992 administration of Olympia & York, the Canadian developer behind Canary Wharf, to which EY was appointed administrator.

In 2003 he was a founding partner of Re10, established to approach insolvency differently: specialising in formal procedures — liquidations, receiverships, administrations and company voluntary arrangements — while always looking beyond the standard framework. The name reflected the philosophy: rethink, restructure, resolve. With more than 35 years in the profession, Nimish continues to apply that approach at Coots & Boots, developing integrated strategies that combine formal procedures with informal, practical solutions.
